DESCRIPTION
The Tehuelche Indians, from the province of Santa Cruz, Argentina, were called the Patagonian Giants because the men were notable for their large stature, robust frame, and physical strength. A family of five adult men, one woman, and a young girl lived in horsehide tents on the Exposition grounds. Visitors came to witness their skills in horsemanship and marksmanship in competitions staged against American cowboys.
