With Step-on Tours the Missouri History Museum offers an opportunity for you and your group to explore St. Louis history, led by one of our guides.

These tours connect you with the rich history of our region and foster appreciation for the diverse community that we are. Choose from the list of thematic tours below.

Forest Park
This narrated tour winds through the streets of Forest Park as we uncover the history, beauty, and enlightening stories that have existed since 1876.



Louisiana Purchase: Remaking St. Louis
On this tour, you’ll visit sites that speak to some of the changes created by the Louisiana Purchase, and learn about the real hopes and fears that St. Louisans had about becoming a part of the United States.

The Power of Place
“Place” is a powerful concept, a defining element in who we are. Learn about places in our region that have been wiped off the physical landscape, and explore some of the important places that remain.

Take a trip to some of the early neighborhoods illustrated by Compton and Dry, and explore the vast differences of "then” and “now."


Note: Your group must provide motor coach transportation with a sound system and seating for the guide. A minimum of 20 participants is required to schedule a Step-on Tour; the maximum depends on the seating capacity of the tour bus. Reservations are required and requested at least 30 days in advance.
