Description
Do you want a field-trip experience that emphasizes career readiness and professional skills? Are you looking for a truly interdisciplinary program that combines history, art, English language arts, and science? Are your students curious about the inner workings of a museum? If the answer to any of these questions is "yes," then sign up for our Curator for a Day program for a unique look at the Missouri History Museum.

In the Galleries
On the Curator for a Day tour, students will visit three areas of our galleries. At each stop, they'll engage with objects and displays through the eyes of museum staff: a curator, a conservator, and an exhibition designer.

Theatre Performance: BAG Then; BAG Now
From 1968 to 1972, a group of local African American musicians, artists, actors, and poets worked together in BAG—the Black Artists Group—to showcase their talents, teach area youth, and encourage black pride. This 35-minute play follows BAG's journey and highlights the artistic talents of the Teens Make History Players in the spirit of BAG's legacy. A 10-minute Q&A session will follow.

Note that portions of the activities may be cut out if your group arrives late.

Please read our Summer Policies before booking your visit.
