Description
Do you want a field experience that emphasizes career readiness and professional skills? Are you looking for a truly interdisciplinary program that combines history, art, English language arts, and science? Are your students curious about the inner workings of a museum? Sign up for our gallery + classroom program, Curator for a Day, for a unique look at the History Museum.

In the Galleries
On the Curator for a Day tour, students visit 3 areas of our galleries. At each stop they will engage with objects and displays through the eyes of museum staff: a curator, a conservator, and an exhibit designer.

In the Classroom
During the classroom portion, students will work in teams and use objects in our education collection (which are touchable) to create their own thematic exhibition. They will define and develop their exhibition theme, choose objects to be in their exhibition, design a space to display their exhibition, and finally create an event that would entice an audience to come visit their exhibit.

*Please note that portions of the activities may be cut out if your group arrives late.
