Film Screening: "The Long Ride"

In 2003, inspired by the Freedom Riders of the 1960s civil rights movement, 900 immigrant workers and their allies boarded buses in 10 cities and rode across America, stopping at more than 100 cities and small towns to focus attention on the plight of immigrant workers. The Long Ride, from Emmy Award–winning filmmaker Valerie Lapin Ganley, chronicles the historic Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride and provides valuable lessons about what it takes to build a social movement and bring about positive societal change.

Presented in collaboration with Missouri Immigrant and Refugee Advocates.
