Free Your Mind: The Psychological Dismantling of Oppression

Oppression has a psychological cost for the oppressor and the oppressed. We each have a role to play in dismantling internal and external forces that keep oppression in place. What does the internal process of psychological liberation look like inside the dynamics of today’s society? Dr. Kira Hudson Banks, associate professor of psychology at Saint Louis University, will discuss appropriated racial oppression and racial identity development, as well as how to psychologically disentangle from the dynamics of oppression amid the dismantling of systemic oppression.
