Join Robert Stoddard for this look into the life of Amos Stoddard, the first civil commandant and governor of Upper Louisiana, including his key role in Three Flags Day when Upper Louisiana was transferred from Spain to France on May 9, 1804, and from France to the United States on May 10, 1804. The presentation will also trace the remainder of Stoddard’s life story from his Revolutionary War service to his tragic death on May 11, 1813, at Fort Meigs, Ohio, during the War of 1812.
