The Grapes of Wrath is one of the most iconic novels about the American Dream and the promise of the open road. Over the decades, its story has been transformed for the film and for the stage. This spring, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis presents The Grapes of Wrath as a new opera. Discover the novel’s rich history of adaptation and its role in the history of Route 66 in a panel event featuring composer Ricky Ian Gordon, Missouri History Museum curator Sharon Smith, Executive Director for Cinema St. Louis Cliff Froehlich, and experts in film and literature, led by OTSL General Director Timothy O’Leary.
Presented in collaboration with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (OTSL).
