Performance & Film Screening: Gentlemen of Vision
Gentlemen of Vision step team performs at the History Museum

Gentlemen of Vision (GOV) was founded in 2009 by Marlon Wharton and the late Paul Albea on the campus of St. Louis’s Riverview Gardens High School as a response to the increasing need to address the issues and concerns of young, socioeconomically disadvantaged males. Wharton has built the GOV step team’s winning tradition by acting as both stepping coach and life coach. This film depicts team members’ struggles and successes during the 2015–2016 season.

Join us before the film for a performance by the Gentlemen of Vision step team, and stay afterward for a discussion with Wharton, filmmakers Frank Popper and Jim Kirchherr, and GOV students.

Presented in partnership with Nine Network of Public Media.
