The Missouri History Museum has spent a fabulous year celebrating the 250th birthday of St. Louis, and now it’s time for St. Louis to turn 251! On February 14 and 15, the Museum is turning the final weekend of the 250 in 250 exhibit into a huge birthday bash with free activities for the entire family.

Saturday, February 14th

Explore the 250 in 250 exhibit with a scavenger hunt, and register to win a prize package of 250 in 250 souvenir merchandise.

Make-and-Takes: Create birthday cake collages and birthday crowns.  Kids will receive pictures of St. Louis past, present, and future to look at through festive 3-D glasses that they can decorate and take home.

Make a Lego cake with Bricks 4 Kidz.

Spin the Sprout and About prize wheel.

Portrait of St. Louis at 250 Years Film Screening: Stop in any time to enjoy a specially created film capturing the “city symphony” of modern life in St. Louis.  This film will repeat on a loop throughout the day.

Theatre in the Museum: Esther – For free black women like Ester, the world changed enormously with the Louisiana Purchase.  Hear her story in a 20-minute play starring Linda Kennedy.

Poetry in Motion Movement Workshops: Join folk artist Mama Lisa for barefoot dancing that will transform the words of St. Louis native Maya Angelou into movements that whirl, roll, and rock with a fun rendition of "When I Think About Myself."
