Make History - Volunteer Now!

Every day, volunteers at the Missouri History Museum (MHM) help make the history of our community more accessible. Putting their talents to work at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park and the Library and Research Center, volunteers are essential to the work which began in 1866. Volunteers greet visitors, conduct tours and programs, staff the Museum Shop, assist with research, help preserve artifacts and much more. Download the volunteer brochure (2.3 MB).

People with special skills, flexible schedules or an interest in history are welcome to join our volunteer program. The Missouri History Museum is committed to the success of each volunteer and offers an extensive training program designed to provide historical background information, specific skills and knowledge.

MHM volunteers enjoy a wealth of benefits including discounts in the Museum Shop, enrichment programs, a newsletter (PDF), reference services, invitations to special events created to recognize the volunteer force and the satisfaction of both learning and sharing perspectives. By volunteering, you too can make history. We'll find the perfect match for your time, talents and interests.

The Volunteer Services program at the Missouri History Musuem is certified by the United Way of Greater St. Louis Voluntary Action Center. For general information, call 314-454-3187.
